Elevator Construction
The new elevator is coming together piece by piece. Construction occurs from inside the shaft, outward. A platform is placed inside the shaft once the guiding beams and hydraulic equipment have been installed. From that platform, which is mobile, the doors are set for each floor. The final piece to be put together is the cab itself. The hydraulic pump which will run the elevator is remarkably small. You’ll see it in the photo of the open closet in the gallery below.
